A music teacher, a practical idea.
MusicClassLab is independently created and run by a practicing music teacher. It began with a simple question: could music homework be more musical—and easier to set?
A little about the person behind it
I teach music, and I wanted tools that would be useful in the time we actually have: a few minutes of listening practice, a quick classroom starter, or homework that helps students build a real musical skill.
That led me to start building MusicClassLab. The aim is to make activities such as dictation, note reading and chord recognition straightforward to practice, with clear feedback and a level of challenge that students can grow into.
It is an independent teacher project, shaped by classroom needs and feedback. You can reach me through the contact form.
For students and teachers
Students can choose a skill, practice at their own pace and try again without needing an account. Teachers can use the same activities on the board or share a homework link with their chosen settings.
Homework results include a numerical score and a code students can submit to their teacher. The teacher can then check the result and review the answers.
Free to use, without the extra setup
No subscriptions. No accounts. Always free to use. Advertising and affiliate commissions help toward the cost of hosting and keeping the tools available. Presentation mode keeps ads out of the classroom view.
Always room to improve
MusicClassLab is growing through use and feedback. Read the development roundup to see what has been added and improved. If something is confusing, a musical detail needs correcting or you have an idea for a useful activity, please get in touch.
