Chord Progression Builder: a quick guide
Your goal
Listen to a sequence of chords and work out what is missing. Notice which chords sound settled and which seem to lead somewhere.
Try an example
In C major, I–IV–V–I means C–F–G–C major chords. I is the home chord. Hear how the last G chord leads back to C.
Easy to mix up
The highest note is only part of the chord. Listen for the low notes too. I means the home chord of the key, so it will not always be C.
A tip for your next go
Start with I and V. Listen once to the whole sequence, then focus on the gap.
