Composition Challenge: a quick guide
Your goal
Make your own music from a short brief. Choose an idea you can finish in the time you have.
Try an example
Try a musical question and answer. Write a two-measure tune that sounds unfinished, then a related two-measure answer that comes back to the home note. Reuse the rhythm to link them.
Easy to mix up
You do not need lots of different ideas. Check that your music fits the brief, instruments and time limit. Repeating an idea with one small change can work well.
A tip for your next go
Read the brief, pick one idea and try it out. Use the success criteria to check your work. You decide how your composition develops; the tool does not point it automatically.
